Journal#3 is an independent, open-access and non-profit journal that brings together art, media and cultural theory and practice from across geographical and disciplinary contexts. We are interested in collaborations with artists, designers, academics, writers, curators, and thinkers in whatever form they happen to take.
The overarching interest of Journal#3 is dialogue. By this we mean not only the encouragement of new conversations amongst creators across different disciplines, practices, and world views, but also the disruption of established dialogues within our heavily mediated lives by supporting multi-voiced and multi-centered interaction.
Each edition has a guest curator who takes charge of bringing together work by different artists, writers and thinkers. Rather than a linear series of separate articles, our digital curators then place these contributors into an active conversation, seeking to create a publication with a specific, complex critical fingerprint.
That, at least, is the idea. It doesn't always work out so neatly. But it's what drives us, and what we feel Journal#3 has to offer.
